The Bühne im Hof is a pioneering independent theatre where completely new theatrical concepts are explored. The theatre is renowned for its dramatic coverage of contemporary and often taboo topics; mental illness, drugs, AIDS, right wing extremism, racialism, homophobia and political corruption. It is this confrontational contemporary cultural programme which sets it apart from the other theatres in the state capital. The organisation also encompasses a modern folk theatre and a small youth art theatre.
