The Ötschergräben, sometimes referred to as Austria’s Grand Canyon, is a ravine close to Mitterbach am Erlaufsee in Lower Austria. The five and a half kilometre long ravine was formed by a tributary of the Erlauf named the Ötscherbach. There are two outstanding waterfalls which pour into the ravine, the Mirafall and the Schleierfall, although they are sometimes dry in the summer months. There is a well signposted foot path running the length of the ravine. Note that it can only be reached by foot.
