The Upper Austrian State Museum, Landesmuseum Francisco Carolinum, which is housed in the citiy’s castle, is one of the richest of its kind. The wide range of exhibits include archaeological finds, a weapons collection, sculpture, musical instruments, and ceramics. There is a picture gallery with works by Ferdinand Waldmüller, Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele. The gallery also has paintings of important figures who were sons of Linz or connected to the city such as Anton Bruckner and Johannes Kepler
