Schmiding Zoo in Krenglbach, close to Wels, is the biggest zoo in Upper Austria. It is a modern zoo with exciting cultural activities and lots of fun and activities for children. In the spacious enclosures, visitors can see giraffes, various species of monkey, tropical birds, antelopes, zebras and many other interesting animals. The Mühlbach flows through the park area and forms many ponds and wetland environments which are home to native and exotic storks, herons, cormorants, pelicans, cranes, ducks and. The zoo boasts the world’s biggest bird of prey enclosure. The Wels zoo is free of charge all year round!
