The Urzeitmuseum in Nußdorf is housed in one of the auxiliary buildings of the town’s former castle and was opened in 1993. The museum is arranged in sections to show the progression of the Traisental through the main prehistoric epochs, from the Stone Age to the Iron Age via the Bronze Age. Each part examines the relationship between the people and the environment and, the changes wrought by settlement and development of the areas the Traisental has always been on an important trade route across Europe and has attracted settlers because of its natural conditions.
