The oldest preserved building of Herzog-Friedrich-Strasse was once a residential tower. Built next to the, now much dimished, city walls in the late 15th century on the orders of Maximilian I, it was named after the last Duke of Andechs, Otto VIII. Its grey façade is brightened by the red and white, Austrian flag, window shutters and the rooms are well worth a look with their cross vaults and stellar vaults. The building now houses the very popular Ottoburg restaurant.
