The museum centre in Mistelbach incorporates the Hermann Nitsch museum containing the largest collection of the artist’s works in Austria. Hermann Nitsch lived near Mistelbach, in the small village of Prinzendorf, from whence he drew much inspiration. The artist is famous for his unconventional style and for his performance art. In the same building is the Internationale Messwein-Archiv which is devoted to the subject of wine and its worldwide relationship to ritual and spirituality. To round off a visit one can shop in the museum shop or buy refreshments in the café.
