The Kaiserjäger Museum is dedicated to the soldiers of the Tirol who died in action between 1796 and 1945, with a Memorial chapel housing a Hall of Honour listing all those killed. Exhibits include an extensive collection of paintings, flags, and arms dating back to the Tirolean freedom fighter Andreas Hofer, information on the struggle for freedom and the ensuing battle on Bergisel as well as the Tirolean "Kaiserjäger" Battalion from 1816 to 1918, with a focus on World War I. There are fantastic views of Innsbruck and the Nordkette mountain range from its position.
