The ‘Astro Shows’ of the Vienna Planetarium are something to behold. With a state of the art Star Projector built by the Zeiss, visitors are given an almost life-like laser image projection of over 9,000 denizens of the sky including stars, star clusters, galaxies and nebulas in their real colours. Originally opened in 1927 the building was replaced following severe damage during the Second World War and reopened in 1964. The constantly changing programme, and multimedia and film presentations geared towards younger visitors, makes for a fascinating astrological education.
