The Spielzeug Museum, which opened in 1978, is situated in the historic Bürgerspital. The collection consists of toys from the last 250 years; dolls houses, puppets, toy theatres, metal and wooden toys, teddy bears, optical toys, model figures, model railways and much more. The building also houses the Historical Musical Instrument Museum which has a large number of instruments from the last four hundred years on display. Here you will find a Hammerklavier (piano) which was once in the possession of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and his sister’s clavichord.
