Housed in a former air-raid shelter this macabre and rather gruesome museum details various types of torture throughout the ages. Following the general history of torture, each room depicts one or two forms of suffering with life-size mannequins and sounds set against well presented backgrounds; one room even recreates the atmosphere of the air-raid shelter during the war. A presentation by Amnesty International ends the visit, informing visitors about the torture that still goes on in many countries. Despite the knowledge and information gained about darker periods in the history of mankind it makes for an absorbing tour.
