Since 1990 two of the factory buildings of the Hackl & Söhne company, a manufacturer of fashionable clothing by appointment to the Emperor and Empress, have been home to the Museum Alte Textilfabrik. The factory was once one of the largest in Austria and in the rooms which originally housed the looms and other machinery visitors can take a journey back in time to when the company employed over five hundred factory and home workers to make dress material, carpets, furniture and decorative cloth. The building complex is a rare example of a typical manor house factory. At one time there was a paper mill and a saw mill on the site.
