The Kaiserpanorama, which was built in 1903, is one of the few remaining round stereoscopic panoramas in the world. It is a large viewer for coloured stereoscopic glass plates which create a three dimensional effect. The panorama accommodates twenty five people around its perimeter who can view various different slide shows on subjects as diverse as Egypt, America, Bavarian castles, Italy, Kärnten, Nepal, from Jaffa to Damascus, Kaiser Wilhelm II in Jerusalem, Paris, Rome, Salzkammergut, Tyrol, Trieste and winter sports. After having been passed from one owner to another for many years, the panorama passed into the hands of the city in 1955 and was restored in the 1990’s.
