The 760 millimetre gauge Mariazellerbahn runs from St. Pölten to Mariazell in Styria, on an electrified line, with a diesel branch line to Mank. The service, still providing regular is run by the Austrian Federal Railways ÖBB passing through some of the most inaccessible and remote parts of Lower Austria and Styria. The track passes through 21 tunnels, the longest 2.4 kilometres long, and over 75 bridges and viaducts and winds its way through breathtaking scenery past high mountains and along narrow gorges
