The former Kleines Festspielhaus (Small Festival Hall), which also contains the Faistauer Foyer and the Karl-Böhm-Saal, has been converted since 2003 into the House for Mozart dedicated to performances of the composer’s stage works in suitably intimate surroundings. The Faistauer Foyer, a square hall with a red marble floor, was named after the Salzburg painter Anton Faistauer, who decorated the walls of the hall with frescoes in 1926. The ceiling fresco of the 17th century Karl-Böhm-Saal, covering almost 600 square metres, is one of the largest of its kind in Austria
