Rosenburg castle was built in the 12th century and was transformed into a magnificent Renaissance palace in the 16th century. The complex, which is one of the most visited attractions in the whole of Lower Austria, has been in the possession of the same family, Hoyos, since 1681. The castle is not only uniquely impressive from the outside but inside it is bursting with fabulous furniture, pictures and works of art. The Marble Hall, chapel and library are especially beautiful. Free flight demonstrations of birds of prey take place in the castle grounds; falcons, eagles, owls and vultures take part. There is a very pleasant castle tavern, for those in need of refreshment, and a souvenir shop.
