The Römermuseum, Wallsee, presents the finds from local excavations which, in 1966, uncovered a Roman camp in the town. The finds are presented in the context of life in the Roman province of Noricum; military affairs, faith and religion and trade and civilian life. There are some interesting artefacts on display including sculpture from graves depicting scenes from mythology and working life. A brick incised with the symbol of a fish is an early reference to Christianity in the area. Even more unusual is the collection of objects from a Roman cheese making factory. Outside visitors can see the well signposted foundations of the camp.
