The State Rooms in the Residenz palace are used for official functions but more than a dozen state rooms, each richly decorated, are open to the public via guided tour when not in use. The highlights are the ceiling frescos by J. M. Rottmayr and the rooms created by Lukas von Hildebrandt and Antonio Beduzzi, with wonderful stucco work by Alberto Camesina, containing many fine paintings. The rooms have many historic connections, for example the child prodigy Wolfgang Amadeaus Mozart often performed in the Conference Room.
