Wels is the centre of an extensive agricultural area and the castle museum collections explore the history of agriculture in relation to the city from the Middle Ages to the present day. There are example of vernacular architecture in the form of original houses, shops and workshops allowing visitors to experience different living environments. The agricultural section shows the agricultural process from cultivation, to harvesting, food processing and, finally, distribution and selling.
