Waidhofen’s beautiful parish church is dedicated to Saints Magdalena and Lambert. The building is essentially Gothic although it is built on the foundations of an older establishment. In common with many Austrian churches it received a Baroque make over; a typical feature being the onion dome surmounting the tower. The interior houses a number of treasures including a winged altarpiece from around 1500 and other Gothic works of art. The wonderful stained glass windows date from after the Second World War.
