The Parscher Kirche is Salzburg’s most notable 1950’s architectural building and the probably the finest post-war church in Austria. It was design by the architects Johannes Spalt, Friedrich Kurrent and Wilhelm Holzbauer of Arbeitsgruppe 4. The church is based on a remodelling of an old farmhouse, parts of which are incorporated into the building. Over the main portal is a sculpture of the Crucifixion by Fritz Wortruba fashioned in concrete and the doors are decorated with designs by Oskar Kokotschka while the interior of the church is dominated by a beautiful marble altar.
