Although he never saw it open to the public this museum was conceived in 1908 to mark the 60th anniversary of Emperor Franz Josef’s reign. Exhibits are arranged in sections: Energy, Heavy Industry, Images of Technology, Innovation Forum, Musical Instruments, Nature and Knowledge and Transport. Its inventive hands-on approach presents exciting technological developments from the past and present and is worth exploring by kids and adults alike; learn about gravity, visit the fog chamber, view the oldest car in working order or don your 3D specs for the Virtual Reality Theatre.
