The permanent exhibitions of the Museum Humanum explore the changing relationship between art and its influences, magic, myth, religious and rational thought, since the beginnings in the Paleolithic Age. The concept is supported by the layout of the museum and the architecture of its pillared hall, in which each arcade is dedicated to a certain subject. The subject of the first arcade is survival, the second myth and religion, the third explores the influence of theology, the fourth religious and secular power and the fifth shows the influence of secularization on artistic language.
