Started as a private collection by Heino Seitler in 1935 the exhibits here were eventually donated to the city of Vienna in 1968, becoming the Austrian Circus and Clown Museum. Now called the Museum for the Art of Entertainment it is a popular children’s attraction and brings to life famous clowns and circus performers from times gone by. Using documents, photographs, programmes, props, costumes, paintings, posters and other memorabilia it guides visitors through the history of circus, entertainment and clowning.
