The museum is housed in the 17th century Innerberger Getreidestadel, which was formerly a granary, on the Grünmarkt which leads from the Stadtplatz. The museum’s collections are dedicated to local art and culture and the exhibits include sculptures, paintings, old tools, a collection of knives and rifles produced by the Steyrer Industriellen Werndl, a nail making machine and a hammer scythe. There is a mechanical crib, the Steyrer Kripperl, showing a variety of religious and secular scenes containing over 200 figures which can be seen operating at certain times of the year.
