Schloss Moosham is a 14th century castle built by the prince-bishops of Salzburg. The stronghold was the seat of a district court which, in the 17th and 18th centuries, achieved notoriety for its summary trials and executions of witches, beggars and other misfits. The castles houses an eclectic collection of furniture and folk art collected from all over the world by a Count Nepomuk Wilzek, a polar explorer, who bought and renovated the castle. The huge underground storage chambers which were used to store tithes now contain a historic vehicle collection
