Weikertschlag’s local museum, which was founded in 1994, can be found in the former town hall. The museum’s main collection brings together articles from the everyday lives of local people both present and past. A second theme is guilds, handicrafts and trades in Weikertschlag and there are three rare guild flags made between 1818 and 1833 on display as part of this. A third topic is the history of the castles which can be found in the Thaya valley. Although the museum is relatively modest in size, there are plenty of interesting exhibits to make a visit worthwhile.
