The Heimatmuseum is located in the Romanesque Hungerturm, also known as the Reckturm. The museum is divied into six areas with over four hundred exhibits relating to the history of Traismauer from the Stone Age to the present. There is a special feature of props and costumes associated with the traditional Traismauer nativity play which has been performed here at Advent since 1810. In the adjacent Alten Schlosserhaus there are frequent exhibitions of contemporary art and a building museum.
