Waidhofen’s Heimatmuseum can be found near the monumental Stadtturm. The museum is devoted to the history and culture of Waidhofen and the Ybbstal and is divided into a number of sections containing a large number of interesting exhibits presented in a lively way; water world, toys, craft and trade guilds, tradition and culture and a picture gallery. Waidhofen was once on the front line in the struggle against the Turks and the museum shows how this affected the lives of the citizens.
