Waidhofen’s Stadtmuseum opened in 1978 bringing together an extensive collection of historical local and regional exhibits together in a newly refurbished city house. The museum combines the local history exhibits with a Waldviertel weaving museum and frequently changing special exhibitions in a typical Waldviertel town house. The textile section of the museum contains a rare historical hand loom. The museum shop contains an extensive selection of postcards, art books, catalogues, local cookbooks and poetry and history books.
