The Erlebnisbrücke is an iron sculpture in the form of a bridge which is designed to blend into the landscape. The bridge is a product of collaboration between Franz Wahler and Josef Eybl who, as well as designing and constructing it, also raised the money for the work. In the nearby ravine of the Noth there were, once upon a time, thirteen grinding factories which finished and polished the iron goods which were produced in and around Ybbsitz. These establishments had all shut down by 1916 as the ironmongery trade in this collapsed due to pressure from more efficient manufacturing processes.
