The Industrieviertelmuseum is dedicated to work, industry and technology; the three aspects of human life which most influence the way people live. The collections include handicraft tools illustrating everyday working practises, documentation about local industry and Vienna in particular and the history of industrial technology. There is an excellent reconstruction of a typical workshop of the 1920s with an early electric powered lathe and a factory office with all its paraphernalia. In the basement there is an exhibition devoted to concentration camp industry, particularly with reference to the Mauthausen camp complex.
