This Vivarium is peculiarly housed in a giant flak tower in Esterhazy Park, one of six erected during the Second World War. The thousands of fish and reptiles on display have been divided into five sections: Tropical seawater fish; Tropical freshwater fish; Mediterranean fish; Reptiles and snakes; Tropical House. Black finned sharks, sea turtles, sea anemones, piranha fish, crustacea, octopodes, snakes, lizards, crocodiles, birds, bats and monkeys are just some of the wonderful creatures to be seen. Small guided tours of the rooftop terrace are available, giving an incredible panoramic view over Vienna.
