The Blasiuskirche or Bürgerspitalskirche is an early gothic church which was formerly the chapel of a 14th century hospital, the Bürgerspital, built by Prince Archbishop Friedrich III for the citizens of Salzburg. The hospital buildings and chapel occupied the site of an earlier 12th century chapel which was dedicated to St. Blasius. The interior and exterior of the church have a mixture of mainly 18th and 19th century features. The church often serves as a venue for music concerts.
