Celebrating the life and work of the Austrian sculptor Gustinus Ambrosi, this museum was opened in 1978. Having become deaf at the age of seven, Ambrosi battled against his disabilities and, upon the decree of Emperor Franz Joseph, was awarded with an official studio in the Vienna Prater when he was only twenty years old. The museum contains just a selection of the 3000 plus works created by this prolific sculptor including beautiful marble sculptures of larger-than-life human forms, heads, torsos and busts. The pieces cover his life up to 1975 when he tragically committed suicide.
