The Franziskanerkirche, formerly a Carmelite church with a pink convex facade, dates from about 1779 can be found at the north east corner of the Rathausplatz. The name of the original architect is unknown but the Rococo high altar is possibly by Andreas Gruber who also designed the Trinity Column outside in the centre of the square. The side altars have altarpieces by Johann Schmidt, more commonly known as Kremser Schmidt, which depict Mary of Mount Carmel, Judas Thaddaeus, St. Theresa and St. John of Nepomuk.
