Originally built in 1888 as a summerhouse, by the famous Jugendstil architect Otto Wagner, the building fell into disrepair, and was even earmarked for demolition, until Ernst Fuchs’ initiative to save the building in 1972. Now called Fuchs Villa it serves as a museum dedicated to the artwork and sculpture of the Austrian born painter, draftsman, printmaker, sculptor, architect, stage designer, composer, poet and singer and founder of the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism. The gardens are also worth a look with their additional sculptures and the Nymphaeum pump room.
