The Einöd Hammer, beautifully situated in the heart of Ybbstal, is a typical hammer mill powered by the waters of the Prollingbach. Ybbsitz was for centuries one of Autria’s most important centres for iron working and this establishment produced a variety of tools and other iron goods; horse shoes, axes, shovels and nails. The mill has long since ceased to be used commercially and is now used as a metal working workshop. Nearby is the Wehrsteg, an accessible iron sculpture which spans the Prollingbach.
