Laid out in 1964 as part of the Vienna International Garden Show many of the original features have been dismantled or adapted but this 800,000 sq. metre garden, the second largest park in Vienna, remains a firm favourite with people of all ages, particularly those with children. As well as the immaculately kept park with its rose garden and modern sculptures, there is giant chess, skateboarding and a petting zoo. On the banks of the man-made Lake Iris is a theatre which seats 4,000 and the narrow-gauge Danube Park railroad is sure to prove a hit with the kids.
