Crossbows, swords, helmets, pistols, and other armour are on display in the Hofjgad- und Rüstkammer, which lays claim to one of the best collections of armour in the world. Most of the exhibits date from the 15th to the 17th century and belonged to the Habsburg’s as well as European sovereigns and princes, some of which was worn by very young members of the families. There are also impressive assortments of jousting equipment, costume armour, rapiers and some rather expensive, custom made, eagle armour (Adlergarniture) belonging to Archduke Ferdinand of Tyrol.
