The Schloss-Brauereimuseum is housed in the cellars of Schloss Weitra, where visitors can see the impressive foundations of the ancient castle. The museum is dedicated to the history of brewing in the castle which has been going on since 1321 at least. There are lots of historical brewing artefacts, tools and documentation as well as a substantial number of souvenirs relating to beer which have been gathered over many years. Luckily, if this all gives you a thirst, you can sample some local brews in the castle restaurant.
