Palais Lobkowitz is the setting for this museum highlighting the magic of the stage. With over a million items to choose from, including stage models, costumes, props, drawings, prints and photographs, the permanent and temporary exhibitions focus on all aspects of theatre life and famous artistes. Marionettes from Richard Teschner, costumes by Hans Makart, Oskar Kokoschka, Caspar Neher and Fritz Wotruba, and a set of teeth from the actor and playwright Josef Kainz are among the curiosities to be seen. A special children’s section aims to educate kids about the world of the stage in a light-hearted way.
