This incredibly enlightening museum, housed in the old Town Hall, has a permanent exhibition on the Austrian anti-fascist resistance. Founded in 1963, by ex-resistance fighters and anti-Fascist historians, the displays concentrate mainly on the Austrian resistance to the Nazi regime during the second world war when over 2700 members of the resistance movement were executed by the Gestapo. The rise of fascism during the 1930’s is also covered, as is the neo-Nazi and extreme right-wing views which have appeared in Austria following the war.
