This Art Nouveau clock, designed by Franz von Matsch, was built between 1911 – 1917. The clock spans two buildings owned by Anker Insurance and, during course of twelve hours, twelve of Vienna’s key historical figures move across the bridge. At noon there is a parade of all twelve figures accompanied by a ten minute medley of organ music. A list of the gilded cut-outs is displayed below on a plaque and range from Marcus Aurelius to Josef Haydn. Keep an eye out for Adam, Eve, the Devil and Angel on the brackets of the clock bridge.
