The Müstingerkeller dates from the 14th century when it was part of a farm owned by the monastery of Kremsmünster. In 1433 it was sold to Wolfgang Müstinger, whose granddaughter and heiress, Barbara, donated it to the monastery. In the 1990s, the Müstingerkeller was converted by the local architect Gerhard Schnögass into a wine shop dedicated to the excellent red and white wine produced in the monastery. A visit is very much recommended not only for a chance to sample and buy the local wine but also for the cellar’s ambience.
