The largest nature park in Lower Austria is centred on the Ötscher, the 1893 metre peak which is the highest in the southwest Mostviertel. The limestone deposits have resulted in a landscape which is scarred by amazing gorges and waterfalls interspersed with extensive woodland and meadows rich in wonderful alpine flora. Access to the parks attractions, which include, watchtowers, caves and historic buildings, is by the paths and tracks and the chairlifts which operate in both winter and summer.
