Korneuburg’s handsome neo-Gothic Rathaus was opened in 1895. At the front entrance, above the statues of Emperor Franz Josef und Duke Albrecht I, is the coat of arms of the Kronländer and a bust of the Viennese architect Max Kropf. On the north side of the building are statues of historic figures such as Matthias Corvinus and Przemysl Ottokar. Inside the town hall the decorations include further coats of arms including that of the first mayor Andreas Ramler who was elected in 1406. The city archives hold a particularly important document; an autograph manuscript by historian Thomas Ebendorfer of Haselbach.
