On the outside of the Roman Catholic Pfarrhof is a marble tablet showing an otter, or beaver, and the inscription 1X90, which is taken to indicate the year 1490. Thus the parsonage may have been in the possession of the Otter family of Korneuburg or the dignitary Biber of Kreuzenstein. Another explanation is that the stone indicates the size of the rats which ran up and down Kirchengasse. The parsonage was remodelled in the Baroque style and last renovated after the Second World War following a disasterous fire in 1942. Originally, the building was connected to the city castle.
