The Pfarrkiche, which was built on a natural strongpoint, the so-called Kirchberg, is dedicated to St. Stephen. The Gothic church was constructed in the second half of the 14th century and remodelled in the Baroque style in the 18th century, as were many of Austria’s churches. The establishment is also known as the Wallfahrtskirche "Maria Trost " as it houses a stone statue of Mary which was donated by the family Beer, to commemorate the birth of a son in 1679. The sculpture was incorporated into the high altar of the church in 1785.
