The Heimatmuseum Pöggstall is housed in the ancient Schloss Rogendorf where it has been since 1962. The castle contains a torture chamber with original instruments of torture, which was used until 1776, and also the apparatus of criminal jurisdiction. In the local history museum itself there are sections devoted to farming, rural crafts, business and commerce and education, in the form of a reconstruction of a classroom. The collections of tools relating to different trades are of special interest; shoemaking, pottery, weaving, baking, dentistry, gold working, metalwork. There are also exhibits of caps, helmets, badges, whistles, coins and weapons.
